For Musicians
Open Mic Atlanta provides musicians with an opportunity to "play-out". There are many great musicians that don`t get an opportunity to perform in front of a live audience because their busy schedules won`t allow them to join a band or book a regular gig. If you just love to play, this is your place!
Not only is Open Mic a great opportunity to play, but it`s a great way to meet fun, energetic people. Check out our "Images" section to see the fun!
Where Are the Open Mics?
Open Mic Atlanta operates music based open mics all over the Atlanta-metro area. To find the Open Mic that is just right for you, click on our "Venues" option from the menu.
Who Can Play?
We pride ourselves on the quality of music that we provide for our venues. If you`ve been told, "hey, you`ve got a great voice" or "you can really jam on that guitar", then you`re who we`re looking for!
We regularly have musicians "sit-in" with others in "jam-sessions". Guitar, bass, keys, violin, and sax players are all common-place at our Open Mics.
If you`ve been told by your therapist that playing guitar and singing in front of people will help you overcome your problems, then we`re probably not the best choice for you.
How Do I Sign-up?
We don`t accept advance reservations for slots. To insure a slot to play, please show-up as close to the start-time as possible. We have a professional designed sign up sheet with time slots. You play at the time you signed up for.
Can My Band Play?
Yes. But, keep in mind that we must switch-out acts very quickly to give everybody a chance to play. Only bring a minimal amount of equipment.
What About Drums?
Not every venue is big enough for drums. Check under `Venues` and look for `Drum Friendly` before loading up the kit. Show up one hour before the open mic start time to allow ample time to setup the kit.
What Do I Need To Bring?
OMA provides a PA system, microphones and all cables. Bring your instrument and some friends! We often have congas and drums for comunal use, but it`s not guaranteed. Email us the day of the show to verify drums.
Thank you for your interest in Open Mic Atlanta. I hope to see you at the gigs!
